All-on-4 Treatment

What Is All-on-4?

All-on-4 is a type of full-arch restoration procedure that uses dental implant posts to support a fixed denture. Designed by Nobel Biocare™, this treatment does not require bone grafts and only requires four implants to support the prosthesis. Without the need for bone grafts, the overall treatment time is much shorter. Our oral surgeons at Siouxland Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery can perform the All-on-4 procedure in just one surgical visit, allowing you to leave our office with a brand new smile in just one day.

Benefits of All-on-4

  • Implant-supported dentures are more comfortable to wear, more convenient to take care of, and healthier than removable dentures.
  • To care for your replacement teeth, simply brush and floss daily. No special rinses, products, or adhesives are necessary.
  • Dental implants are the only tooth replacement option that prevents jaw bone loss by fusing to the bone, protecting your oral health.
  • With fixed dentures in place, you can eat your favorite foods comfortably, laugh and smile around others, and live with confidence in your smile.

Is All-on-4 Right for Me?

Full-arch restoration is an excellent solution for anyone who has lost teeth and desires a complete and healthy smile. The All-on-4 treatment concept is great for simple and complex restoration cases, including patients who are edentulous (missing all of their teeth) or soon-to-be edentulous. During the consultation, we will evaluate your oral health and discuss all of your tooth restoration options to see if the All-on-4 treatment concept is right for your needs.

Ideal candidates are patients who are missing most or all of their teeth or currently wear removable dentures. All-on-4 is also ideal for patients who desire a fixed full-arch solution but who lack sufficient jaw bone and are unable to undergo bone grafting treatment. All-on-4 treatment is often more affordable than a full mouth of individual implants, making it a more affordable option for many patients.

The All-on-4 Process

During the consultation appointment, Dr. Miller or Dr. George will use 3D scans to evaluate your oral health and create your custom treatment plan. Using this advanced technology, we will map out exactly where each implant will go and plan the details of your surgery with enhanced precision. We offer many anesthesia options for your comfort and will help you select the right choice for your procedure.

On the day of your procedure, we will administer the selected form of anesthesia. Once you are comfortable, your oral surgeon will extract any remaining teeth and insert the dental implant posts. We will attach a new arch of temporary teeth to the implants and after just one surgical appointment, you will leave with a brand new set of teeth.

While the implants heal, your restorative dentist will create your final prosthesis. After the healing period, your dentist will attach the final prosthesis.

Replace Dentures With Dental Implants in Sioux Falls, SD

Removable dentures are a quick and non-surgical way to replace missing teeth. However, removable dentures do not prevent jaw bone loss or restore full oral function. Many patients who wear removable dentures find it embarrassing to take their teeth out during meals and dislike having to use special rinses and care routines to keep their teeth clean. Dentures require replacements every few years and, if not professionally fitted each time, they can slip and cause oral sores.

By replacing removable dentures with implant-supported dentures, you eliminate all of these inconveniences and enjoy a healthy, new smile that looks amazing. Your fixed smile will stay in your mouth at all times and allow you to eat, speak, and maintain oral hygiene just like you would with natural teeth. If you are unsatisfied with your current dentures or are about to receive your first pair of dentures and would like to explore your tooth replacement options, contact Siouxland Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. You have many options when it comes to your smile, and we look forward to improving your oral health and happiness.
