About Dr. Miller
Denis Miller, DDS, MBA, has been an oral and maxillofacial surgeon since 1998 and is a co-owner of Siouxland Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He is an active member of the larger dental and medical communities and regularly gives presentations and lectures in the region. He’s a clinical professor at the University of South Dakota Dental Hygiene Program in Vermillion, SD. He is a primary member of the facial trauma team at Sanford and Avera Hospitals. Dr. Miller also founded and organizes the regions foremost dental study club that promotes dental education in the region with six meetings a year featuring regional and nationally recognized speakers.
Education and Residency
Dr. Miller received his double major in biology and chemistry from the University of Western Ontario in London Ontario Canada. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit. After finishing his dental degree, he completed advanced training in general practice dentistry residency at Ravenswood Hospital University at Chicago, followed by an oral surgery internship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He then went on to complete his rigorous four-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Miller is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Miller is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Oral Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the South Dakota Dental Association, and the Southeastern District Dental Association.
Dr. Miller is involved with many charitable organizations including Sanford’s Children’s Hospital, the Donated Dental Assistance Program, the Union Gospel Mission, the South Dakota Humane Society, The Compass Center, the McCrossan Boys Ranch, the South Dakota Symphony and the Sioux Falls Zoo.
Hobbies and Interests
Dr. Miller truly loves spending time with his family, participating in charitable events and participating in the education of students in the dental student, dental hygiene, and dental assisting programs. Dr. Miller has been married to his wife, Deborah, since 2011. They have two beautiful daughters, Ruby and Penelope, and a friendly Wheaton terrier named Oscar.
